    Description

Offered here are two spray paint cans. Both are marked: "CHAMPION...SPRAYON...The Brushless Enamel...One Coat Covers...CHAMPION BRONZE POWDER & PAINT CO., INC...Chicago 12, Illinois...Made In U.S.A." I think these are from the 1950's - give or take. (They have the old 2-digit "Postal Code", which was abandoned when the post office introduced the 5 digit Zip Code in 1964.) They have an unusual push button, that resembles a zipper pull. The cans are metal, with a PAPER LABEL. One is marked: "ROYAL BLUE" and the other is marked "GLOSS." (I don't know if this is just a clear gloss varnish, or if the color is rubbed off the label.) Each can measures 4 & 3/4 inches tall, and 2 & 5/8 inches wide. PLEASE NOTE; NEITHER CAN WORKS. (Sold as a vintage collectible, not for actual use -but you MIGHT be able to clean out the stems?) The Royal Blue can is about 1/3 full. The Gloss can feels completely full. The paper labels on both have some tears, scuffs and soiling as seen in the above pictures. Both cans are guaranteed to be old & original, or your money back. As these are pressurized, they will need to be sent via Parcel Select Ground.

I just received a message from a collector who states that these cans were almost certainly made between 1948 and 1951.
