Sony BVM-E250A
monitor was a studio backup unit, hence the ultra low hours (less than 1200 panel on hours), performs the same as when new out of the box. Sony recommended servicing after 35,000 hours to ensure critical-grade color accuracy, so this definitely has plenty left before that for professional use, let alone for non-professional use. This is as close as you probably can get to a new unit of this model, which still sells new for over ,000 plus taxes.
This listing is for the monitor as described below, I will also throw in for free a
BKM-16R
controller with power adapter (not pictured), as well as a
high grade custom wheeled professional flight case
(the case alone is an over 0 value) for absolute safe transit and storage.
A Sony tech inspected and verified no issues on the screen (i.e. no dead/dropped pixels or visible scratches), monitor is also recently calibrated
. The cosmetic condition of the metal frame is very good with a few minor signs of wear. Please see all pictures to verify physical condition.

For professional users
: you likely already know what this monitor can do.
-This model was Sony's absolute top of the line before the introduction of the BVM-X300 for 4K production, though the X300 in turn has issues that this model is free from (and the current HX310 LCD monitor is a compromise in its own way).
-This unit is on the latest firmware that allows it to be incorporated into current production flows with pixel-perfect 2K slide mode and S-LOG2/3 gamma support.
-The E250A also features much better viewing angles and anti-reflection coating than the previous non-A E250.
-And of course the E-series panels are of the highest grade, superior and more reliable than those in the F-Series F250/F250A.
-Many also consider the E250A, which was a flagship master monitor, superior in some performance and build-quality factors to the slimmed down E251.
For non-professional users
: if you are a video/film enthusiast or a modern or retro gamer, looking for what is absolutely the best display that money can buy at this point in time for SD, HD, full HD, and even UHD, beating by far any LG WOLED/WRGB
panel (all commercial OLED TVs of any brand)
, including 2021's slightly improved panels, then this is for you. This one also beats the X300 since the X300 officially dropped support for SD signals.

of you, without any color degradation or desaturation on brightness colors, as in the case of the WRGB panels that LG makes which are bottom emission. This is also better than the upcoming Samsung's QD-OLED tech, which is blue OLED plus a QD filter.
-All the glowing praises of HDTVTest's review of the X300 apply to this model, with the only exception being that this is a full HD 1920x1080 panel rather than 4K, but 4K content downscaled to 1080p still looks amazing and retains detail on this panel to actually make it look better than any commercial 4K panel.

of the panel that eliminates sample-and-hold (or persistence) blur from motion, getting closest to
CRT levels of motion clarity
than anything else, much more effective than current BFI settings on commercial TVs, with
no brightness reduction at all
, and with no need for interpolation (including Sony's commercial TV's motionflow) that results in artifacts. This as CRT as it gets without being a CRT, and is great for fast motion especially in sports, action movies, and scrolling or camera movement in 2D and 3D video games, etc.
-A true RGB 10bit panel and 12bit output engine ensures amazing color accuracy that no WOLED panel  will ever be able to achieve. The panel is also of the highest grade Sony has made, yielding
perfect color gradation, near-black uniformity,
gamma tracking,
screen uniformity, etc
. I don't mean "perfect" like TV sellers will say about new TVs this year, but literally flawless. It is the gold standard for all displays.
-1080p and 1080i sources will be displayed full screen with
no scaling, pixel perfect
.
-All other resolutions like 720p, 480p, and 480i, as well as PC/VESA resolutions can be displayed either with 1:1 pixel perfect matching, or scaled better than with any commercial or prosumer scaler you can find.
-SD (480i or 576i) and ED (480p or 576p) content can be integer scaled 2x or aspect corrected for SD content which used non-square pixels (both 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios are displayed correctly) with no loss to picture quality whatsoever.
-All interlaced sources (SD or HD) can be presented with
no deinterlacing artifacts or delay from I/P conversion, but in true interlace mode
for a picture virtually identical to native display on a CRT BVM, which is of course another reason why these are great replacements for CRT PVMs BVMs like the L5, D20, D24/A24 or D32/A32 models that are now popular for gaming. If you prefer it, the deinterlacing mode is also excellent, better than any dedicated processor I've seen, while also being extremely fast.
-On the topic of CRTs for gaming, a "240p" signal cannot be displayed stable (though there is a picture with true "scanlines" with the interlace mode on) directly, using a specialized device like an OSSC, Retrotink 5X or modified GBS-Control can produce results identical or arguably better than a CRT for these low res sources. The results are outstanding.
-In sum, as someone who has used my personal unit of the same model for gaming and video, I can say that this is the best option you can find, and will be happy to provide info and advice if you'd like to buy this unit for such uses.
