Arugula is renowned as a leafy green with the most potent peppery mustard-like and pungent taste. It’s so flavorful, you can use microgreens and even edible arugula seeds as a herb in sauces and salad dressings. Microgreens will be a great addition to salads and soups. You can also add them to green smoothies or sprinkle on soups and stews. Be sure to also try adding them to your spring rolls.
Organic Arugula Seeds Sprouting Guide
You should never soak Organic Arugula Sprouting Seeds. In fact, you don’t even need to rinse them. Simply place the seeds onto a layer of dried soil substitute (for example, moss) or a thick paper towel. Use a seed flat or an unvarnished clay surface, like a pot bottom. Sprinkle the seeds lightly twice a day and cover with plastic. They should germinate in about 2-3 days.
You’ll be able to enjoy delicious arugula microgreens in about a week. Eat the sprouts when they grow two leaves, or transfer to a pot to grow mature arugula plants. They are quite sturdy, so you can enjoy fresh arugula all year long.
It’s important to avoid overwatering when using arugula seeds for sprouting. They will emit some gelatinous mucous when wetter and might not germinate when it’s too wet.
You can store bulk organic arugula seeds anywhere as long as they remain dry. The cooler the place, the longer they’ll be able to germinate. In a pantry, they should last for a year, but in the freezer, they will keep for many years.
