, a rare Faust Paint Co. St. Louis Mo. latching metal box with handle. While I tried to find information on Faust Paint Co., I couldn't find information on Faust Paint Co. alone, as the search yielded results for Phelan-Faust Paint Mfg. Co. I've found information for Phelan-Faust going back to the 1910s, so it's possible this box is from the 1910s or earlier, but unclear. Inside the box, there are metal tabs on left / right sides, where it looks like one would place something. I have been told this box was meant to hold paintbrushes. Phelan-Faust merged with Valspar in the 1970s. Box measures about 9.25" x 12.5 x 6.25" with handle, the box is about 13.5" tall, and weighs just over 4 lbs. without packaging.
For conditions, please review photos closely using the magnifying tool or zoom in. Please note, these photos were taken in sunlight. The box may not appear as "brilliant" in normal indoor lighting. Faust Paint Co. St. Louis Mo. latching metal box in used condition, with signs of age/use related wear, but completely intact, shuts and seals nicely, with no loose parts. Inside and outside of the box, there are scratches, paint, and other blemishes from age / use related wear. At some point, the box may have been repainted, but unclear. The inside lid looks to have been painted. Otherwise, the box has not been cleaned in my possession. Overall, sturdy and in great shape with no dents or other major flaws.
