    Description

Vintage 1995 Barracuda Cuda Comp mountain bike frame.  Frame is made from Easton Elan triple-butted tubes with a dihedral shaped top tube.  It is extremely light and stiff.  As you can see from the photos, it's pretty scuffed up cosmetically, but it is otherwise in great shape. No bends or dents.  I bought this bike new in 1995 and rode it for a about 5 or 6 years. The original retail price of this bike was about 50 -- which was a lot of dough for a bike 25 years ago.  This was a race-worthy bike back in the day.  It's been gathering dust in my garage ever since. I was going to re-build it with new parts, but I got a gravel bike instead and lost interest.  I believe this is an 18" frame.  It measures 18 from the center of the bottom bracket to roughly the center of the top tube.  I'm 5'10" and this frame fit me perfectly.
If you are a Barracuda enthusiast, you know what you are looking at.  If not, Barracuda was a small brand from Durango, Colorado that made great mountain bikes in the early and mid-1990s - similar to early Yeti.  Unfortunately, they got bought by some huge company (maybe Ross?) which quickly ruined the brand and the company.  This frame still has a lot of good life in it.   A true MTB classic for those who know.
Buyer pays actual shipping cost.  I'm adding handling to cover the purchase of a box and packing materials. I guessed 7 lbs total weight with packaging, but I actually don't know if this is correct.
**UPDATE: By request, I have added some more closeup photos of the chainstay area.  There is significant scratching, but there are no dings and dents.  If you look at the photo of the underside of the chainstay, you can see it is not dented. (By the way, the brown spots are dirt, not rust. There is no rust -- it's Aluminum.)  I cannot find any dings or dents on the frame, but it is definitely scratched all over.  I believe the scratches could be buffed out with a power tool. You can also buy new frame decals on eBay and elsewhere if you are doing a true restoration.
** UPDATE #2:  I should mention that I also have a Rock Shox Recon 327 130mm fork that I bought to upgrade this bike.  I had it installed briefly. It has mounts for both disc brakes and cantilever/V-brakes.  If whoever buys this frame wants the fork too, we can negotiate a fair price for that and I can ship them together.  Otherwise, I will list the Rock Shox separately after this auction is done.  I also have a WTB Rocket saddle I can add to the mix. I may have the original purple anodized Barracuda handlebars too - I need to keep searching through my garage.  If I can find them, I'll include them with the frame at no additional cost.  I am already including the original Barracuda alloy seatpost, as well as a Shimano bottom bracket (that should probably be replaced or overhauled).
